Sorry its been so long!

Sorryyyy, but we're here now! Some of the girls arent doing personal emails because they're saving spending money btw. So at the moment we're in Caye Caulker and loving it! Tanning/burning on the pier, swimming in the sea and eating as much food as we can squeeze in! Its beautiful here and we're loving the whole rasta feel of the island and how friendly everyone is :) tonight we're going on a sunset boat ride and then hopefully going out for an hour or two for our last proper night together! We're getting a little sad we have to leave here but so excited to get home and see everyone as we're missing you all so much! Long time no speak :(

Hey all :) we are still having a good time even though half the team now has diarrhoea (i will explain all). So, we have just finished our project phase and are now in San Cristobal at a hostel with 1 computer so personal emails may be scarce. The project was brilliant, we arrived in a very remote village near Comitan and helped lay down concrete for their kitchen as well as painting their kitchen and their school (inside and out) we made a mural on the front wall of there school to leave our mark and it is absolutely beautiful! Just wait till you see the before and after pictures, you will be amazed! And very very very very proud. We got to know the people in the village fairly well and taught the kids multiple times including on our last day when we ran a sports day for them with football, hula hooping and a very simplified version of rounders! They made us food 3 times a day and gave us occasional snacks, EVERY meal had tortillas, we are officially fed up! But we did really enjoy the meals and feel we had a good taste of real Mexican cuisine. However, real Mexican cuisine is probably the cause of our illnesses as even our leader John has got pretty ill and he is meticulous with his antibac! Spirits are high and nobody has got serious home sickness which is good :) We are going on a canyon tour tomorrow which some of the group think will be the best day so far so we are really looking forward to that, after we are heading to Palenque where hopefully we should be able to update you again, if not, it will be after the main trek at Indian Creek in Belize. I havent given the last week enough credit for how amazing it was because I cant be on this comp long, but im sure you will all find out when we are back everything about everything as a lot of us have made packed diaries and theres a group diary too so from all of our perspectives of various days, its brilliant, one entry to look out for is Simran Bhandals first :) funny stuff! Holaaa

Okayyy, we have arrived at a veryy nice hostel after roughing it for 2 nights and spending two nights in, well, not the cleanest of accomodations. Our 3 day acclimitisation trek went pretty well, we saw a really nice cave and went swimming in a waterfall and a river :) both clean (and our only source of showers) although we have a lot of smelly girls :p but that should be resolved by the end of tonight! Today we have been sightseeing around Oaxaca and actually had a fancyish meal (in budget of course) and tomorrow will be doing the same :) then we are off to our project phase the next day which we´re pretty excited about! :) Hope you´re all missing us lotss! Good news!

We have had showers! :D yayyyyy. also, amy morris has only nearly been run over 3 times, not bad eh (dont worry amys family, we are gonna giver her a flourescent jacket) also, we now have Rosies bag that was lost that we didnt tell you about :D didnt want any worrying parents. we have had a brilliant day trip today in Teotihuacan and we climbed the third largest pyramid in the world!!  We probably wont be blogging for a long time now as we have got a 3 day trek coming up as of tomorrow and we dont really know where we are gonna end up after or if there is internet access for us. We made itt!

We may have missed our connecting flight to Mexico City because of delays at Heathrow (no surprise here!) but  after two more flights and sleeping at Houston Airport, we landed this morning (Wednesday) around 10. Today has been pretty busy, learning not to get hit by cars and realising they have very flexible driving laws. We have explored Mexico City buying a phone, getting the groceries and eating the greasiest tacos ever! The guacamole was a surprise to some, bit on the spicy side, aha. Still without a shower and in the same clothes we left girls high in but we are living the Mexican lifestyle and cant wait to explore the Teotihuacan ruins tomorrow. Build up day

We should be asleep right now, but we're not :p we're working veryyyyyy hard. Harriet and Hollie are making spreadsheets, we've talked about loadss and eaten lots of pizza/wedges/etc :D thats all for now :) we'll try and post again as soon as we can.
